HOPE

So when people ask me whether being in the White House has changed my husband, I can honestly say that when it comes to his character, and his convictions, and his heart, Barack Obama is still the same man I fell in love with all those years ago … And I didn’t think it was possible, but today, I love my husband even more than I did four years ago…even more than I did 23 years ago, when we first met. I love that he’s never forgotten how he started. - Michelle Obama

Here’s my number, so call me maybe?

So she talks about lynching a black person and then says she’s not racist…

What White people see as racism is when someone Black said something mean to them back in school that one time

Stating a desire to lynch a black man isn’t racist…I can’t.

What I find fucking fascinating about this election (and by fascinating I mean “makes me want to shoot myself in the face”) is you can see, clear-as-goddamned-day, exactly how racist this culture is.  We see this shit all the time from young people who either aren’t old enough to vote yet, or this is the *very first* election they’ll be voting in.  I have yet to see one who said “Oh yeah, that was kind of racist, wasn’t it?”  No, they all contend they’re not racist.  And I would not be surprised if their parents went to lengths to never say racial slurs, or scolded them for anything they said as young people that was outright racist.  But get a black man in an election, even when he is the fucking INCUMBENT, and see where their mind automatically goes.  They don’t see it, and I’m sure their family will jump to defend them.  *But look at the first fucking place their mind goes.*

Let me tell you something about Mitt Romney.

turtletimelord:

We were best friends in middle school. I know, right? It’s SO embarrassing. I don’t even… Whatever. So then, in 8th grade, I started hanging out with the current President Obama who was totally gorgeous but then he moved to DC, and Mitt was like, weirdly jealous of him. Like, if I would blow him off to listen to Obama speak, he’d be like, “Why didn’t you support my idea?” And I’d be like, “Why are you so ignorant of America’s needs?” So then, for my birthday party, which was an all-Democrats pool party, I was like, “Mitt, I can’t invite you, because I think you’re a Republican.” I mean I couldn’t have a Republican at my party. There were going to be Democrats there with their human rights. I mean, right? He was a REPUBLICAN. So then his mom called my mom and started yelling at her, it was so retarded. And then he dropped out of politics because no one would talk to him, and came back in the fall for the presidential election, all of his hair was cut off and he was totally weird, and now I guess he’s trying to make airplane windows roll down.

I don’t know why everyone is so hard on Santorum. He’s devoted so much time, money and energy into making sure Obama gets re-elected. Thanks, Rick!
